If you were to ask us, there's no feeling worse than when you think somebody might be watching you. But despite the feeling, every time you turn around, there's nothing there except the eerie feeling that there are invisible eyes still following you wherever you go.

This can only be described as the creeps. And today, although there's much good that comes from hidden listening devices, cameras, and other surveillance gear, criminals can also use these devices for more nefarious purposes, such as stealing your personal identification information, gaining access to your online accounts, or worse.

Here are the things that can help you to know if you have been bugged.

How to Tell If Your Computer Is Bugged.

In order to know if you have been bugged or not, the first thing you need to understand is how it can be done.

One way would be offline though it is the least effective but, a program recording your activity and then someone physically gets those recordings after you leave the computer.
To detect such programs, Go to Task Manager in Windows or Activity Monitor in Mac, search for suspicious processes running on the system. Then go to the directory it is residing, kill the process first and then delete it from the directory or the folder is residing.

Next step would be to stop suspicious programs from running on startup.
Go to startup settings
Mac: Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items for a list of apps set to launch on startup
Windows: Go to Task Manager, switch the tab to startup.
Stop all the programs that are unfamiliar and are not from authorized  publishers.

Second would be online, a program records your activity and send it over the network to some server,
First things first, use Bandwidth monitoring software such as DU meter, look out for raise in upload speed, If the pc is constantly uploading, when it is idle or when there is no uploading from you end, there might be a problem.
To eliminate that problem, check for the suspicious process in task manager or activity manager, kill that process and delete it from the parent directory from where it is running. Also remove unwanted software from loading on startups.

How to Tell If Your Phone Is Bugged

Phones are the best devices to bug, as they are everywhere and have tons of information and contain all the ingredients, camera, microphone, and medium to transmit that data.

Well... start with the apps you have installed from third party app stores, not from the Apple store or Play Store, because they are the possible bug carrier.
Go to settings for apps, Check permissions of those apps, if they have more permissions and you suspect them to be malicious, uninstall them.

The hint to detect spying activity would be to look closely on increased data usage. Go to settings and check for the apps that use most data, any app using more mobile data than it should, it might be your bug.

Use Android Forwarding Codes Like *#21#
This only works on phones running Android, but it's the perfect way to find out whether any of your data is being forwarded on to a third party.

Just go to your keypad interface and type in either *#21*, *#67#, or *#62# then tap the dial icon. If one doesn't work, try another. They're applicable to different devices, but all three have the same function: they direct you to a screen that details Call Forwarding.
It will list Voice calls, Data, SMS, Packet, PAD, and more. Ideally, each one should say "Not forwarded" afterwards.

If any instead say "Forwarded", your smartphone's probably been hacked.
So what can you do? Just type ##002# into your dial screen then press the dial symbol again. Your screen should now read "Erasure was successful", meaning you've severed the cyberattack. You can navigate away from this screen by tapping OK.

How to Tell If Your House Is Bugged

Hidden cameras have been used ever since the 1940s, with audio surveillance preceding them, so imagine how tiny, practical, durable, and effective these devices are today.

But as nosy people use the technology to poke around in other people’s business, we also have the knowledge and technology to find these bugs and prevent eavesdropping.

Wiretapping devices are listening devices that are attached to telephones. They tap telephone lines and they can record one or both sides of the conversation.
It’s important to note that wiretaps only work on telephones and can also transmit the conversations to a listening post. Some devices even have auto recording features. Scary stuff.

Bugs, on the other hand, are listening devices that can be easily hidden inside rooms, cars, and people’s clothing as well. The bug uses a simple microphone, usually very small, that can listen, record, and transmit conversations.

Some bugs transfer their signal to external sources, as they need mini stations to pick up the transmissions from your house via spying equipment. So, if you begin to notice strange vehicles with dark-tinted windows parked outside your home, beware. They could also be disguised as postman’s service or pizza delivery vehicles, so be extra careful.

Hidden cameras, can be detected using mobile cameras, as mobile cameras can detect infrared light these cameras are emitting. Turn off all the lights and the devices in the room and make the room dark, use the mobile camera and look around for any light. Still suspicious, no need to panic, it can be easy to tell if your house is bugged, you’ll just need the proper devices for it.

Possible Instances, Locations, and Places for Hidden Audio Bugs in Your Home.
First, take a good look at the house. Check to see if anything is out of place, or if there’s a strange buzzing sound. Make sure to turn off all electronic devices, even your refrigerator, to have the silence you need to check properly.
Most people who know how to use audio bugs are professionals, so check every nook and cranny. Most importantly, phone bugs almost always have a power source, so check carefully.
Popular locations include around telephones and underneath lamps, sofas, and other pieces of furniture that are not moved often. Radios, televisions, and telephones are popular targets for bugs.
